BYU Jumps Two Spots In Most Unfriendly LGBTQ+ Campus Rankings

942617_255764294564563_1466369693_nBrigham Young University-Provo a privately operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the LDS Church, or the more colloquial “Mormons”) moved from 6th place to 4th place as the most unfriendly LGBT+ University in rankings done by the Princeton Review out of 379 top colleges across the country. Headlines about the rankings appeared in Gay Salt LakeLGBTQ Nation, and GLAAD, among others.

The Princeton Review method “uses a five-point Likert scale to convert qualitative student assessments into quantitative data for school-to-school comparisons” and claims that “80 to 85 percent of students have indicated our profile on their school was “extremely” or “very” accurate.” The rating agency also reports that at least 343 students reported per University, constituting a wide and diverse sample size.
